EMPORIA, Kan. -- The Bearcat men's and women's tennis teams continued their busy week with conference wins at Emporia State. The SBU men swept the matches and rolled to a 9-0 win while the SBU women handed ESU (7-1, 0-1 MIAA) its first loss of the season.

SBU (3-2, 1-0 MIAA) scored women's singles wins at #1, #3, and #4, with Jolee Cook, Faiga Schmidt and Jenna Hendrickson earning straight set victories. Johanna Olsson and Sarah Sentlinger won 8-6 in #2 doubles and Hendrickson and Crystal Guiot took their #3 doubles match at 8-4.

On the men's side, the #31 Bearcats (4-7, 1-0) rolled through the dual match with the Hornets (6-3, 0-1 MIAA). Marton Zsiga, Domingos Carissimo, Jorge Margiotta, Brandon Finerty and Tyler Welch winning in straight sets. The top two SBU doubles teams won handily while the #3 team of Welch and Jorge Palacios edged Mitchell Kibbe and Matt Van Horn 9-7.

SBU continues with MIAA action on Wednesday with men's and women's matches at Washburn beginning at 2 p.m.
