Game one vs HSU | Game two vs OBU | Season stats
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- Day two of the Ouachita Baptist Classic was not kind to the SBU softball team, as they fell to Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist for the second straight day.
In game one against HSU, the Bearcats fell 5-1 to the Lady Reddies. SBU's lone run came in the fifth inning on a single by Katrina Munoz that scored McKenzie Mortimer. Henderson State scored a run in the opening inning and tacked on four more in the last of the sixth. SBU's Josie Rose struck out eight over five innings.
In the final game of the OBU Classic, the Lady Tigers' Kristen Rigsbee out-dueled SBU's Karly Bitters in a 1-0 contest. OBU got the game's only run in the top of the first on an RBI single by Haley Chambers. Bitters struck out four in six innings pitched. Latasha Baderdeen had two hits for the Bearcats.
UPDATE: 2/15/09 -SBU (0-4) was originally scheduled to play at Arkansas Tech on Monday, in a makeup contest from last week, but that game has been canceled to weather and field conditions.
