TOPEKA, Kan. -- Kelly Isaac gave SBU an early lead with her goal in the sixth minute, then after a pair of Washburn goals, put in the equalizer in the 2-2 draw with the Washburn Lady Blues. The tie keeps the Bearcats and Lady Blues in a tie for fourth in the MIAA.

While Washburn outshot SBU, 25-19, the Bearcats were a little more on target, with 15 shots on goal compared to the Lady Blues' nine. Shonee Samia was kept off the scoreboard, but had four shots on goal, while MIAA leading scorer Ashley Creason had three.

The Bearcats move to 6-8-3 on the year, and 5-7-3 in the MIAA. The draw clinches an improvement from last season's conference schedule, in which SBU went 5-9-2.
