BOLIVAR, Mo. --
With a career high 32 points, senior guard Tomas Brock led the charge, as the SBU Bearcats looked dominant against the 12th-ranked Central Missouri Mules. Brock went 11-of-14 from the field, including a perfect 6-of-6 from three. Although the lead changed hands 16 times throughout the game, SBU never fell behind by more than four points, and a second-half run gave SBU a comfortable 19-point edge to close out the win.

The Bearcats got out to an 11-3 lead over the opening five minutes, and drew two quick fouls on Central Missouri's Dusty Allen, who as a starter, ended up seeing just four minutes of action with no rebounds, and didn't take a shot from the floor all night. Central Missouri did quickly make an 8-1 run that gave them a four point advantage midway through the first half, but junior Nick James hit a pair of three pointers sandwiched around a trey from Ryan Dougherty that put the lead back in the Bearcats' hands, 24-22. The Mules would go into halftime with a narrow 41-40 lead, thanks in part to 13 first half points from Ryan Harris, and 10 from Reggie Stallings.

Thanks in large part to the 'Cats hot outside shooting, SBU held a slim margin throughout much of the first half, that quickly ballooned into a 17 point lead, when Brock hit four straight three pointers for SBU, taking the Bearcats from a ten-point, 78-68 lead, to 90-73, a 12-5 run over four minutes that put away the Mules for good. "Brock did an outstanding job tonight; he shot the ball extremely well," said head coach Jeff Guiot of his point guard. "What I'm proudest of though, is the winning effort from all our guys. Our kids were warriors tonight, and played all 40 minutes. Any time you beat a team like that, it's a fun night."

As a team, SBU shot 17-of-34 (50%) from three, their best performance from long range this season. Not to be overshadowed by Brock's career night was Fort Worth native Ryan Dougherty. The junior guard hit five treys and collected 22 points, just one shy of his career high of 23 against Northwest Missouri last February. The Bearcats also out-rebounded their opponents for the third straight game, led by Robson Memnon and Stephen Cotten with seven. Cotten picked up six points with a pair of assists and two blocks in his second game back from injury. The sophomore forward saw 21 minutes of action on the floor, compared to 12 in his season debut last week.

With the win, SBU improves to 4-3 on the year, and 1-0 in the MIAA. They'll travel to Jefferson City on Saturday, December 4, to face off against the Lincoln Blue Tigers, at 3:30 p.m.
