Game Notes | Live Stats (Washburn only)

BOLIVAR, Mo. -- The SBU Bearcats wrap up the 2010 regular season, with a pair of big matches that will determine SBU's placing in the MIAA standings. The 'Cats have mid-week trip to Washburn, followed by the final home game of the year against Missouri Southern.

Saturday will mark the final home game for seniors Lindsey Boden and Emily Hamilton. Boden, a midfielder from Ogden, Utah, Boden has scored four goals in her two-year career, and was named 2009 All-MIAA Honorable Mention. Hamilton, a goalkeeper from Keller, Texas, has appeared in eight matches, and made nine saves.

Freshman forward Ashley Creason has bounced back from a six-game goalless streak last month, to score three goals in her last two games. Creason has provided all the offense for the Bearcats over the last three matches, and currently leads the MIAA with eight goals on the season. With two assists, Creason also is tied for the conference lead with 18 points.

Forward Shonee Samia looks to regain her form from earlier this season, in which Samia scored six goals over four games. Samia picked up her first career assist last week against Nebraska-Omaha, but has been kept from scoring for four games. Samia ranks seventh in the conference in points, with 13, and third in goals scored, with six.

Sophomore Brittani Ready ranks 14th in Division II with nine assists, and is tops in the MIAA. Ready is just three assists away from tying SBU's single-season assists record, set by Vanessa Toll, back in 2003.

Midfielders Brenna Lacaillade and Kelly Isaac have been a strong offensive support for the Bearcats this season. Isaac, a junior from Wales, has ten points on the year, fourth-most on the team, while Lacaillade has put in two goals on the year. Both players have a pair of game-winning goals, most on the team.

THE COACHES AND THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Bearcat head coach Rob Podeyn is in his second season along the SBU sideline. Podeyn led the Bearcats to a 7-9-3 record last year after coming to SBU from Northwood University (Texas). After earning his 60th career win earlier this season, Podeyn has a career mark of 66-68-11.

The only head coach in Washburn's history, Tim Collins has built a program from the ground up to appear in two NCAA tournaments over the past three years. Over eight seasons, Collins has compiled a school record of 71-51-22.

Alese Woolard enters her first season as the head coach at Missouri Southern after spending four seasons as an assistant coach for the Lions. Woolard has an NSCAA State and Regional Goalkeeping Diploma, as well as an NSCAA Advanced Regional diploma. SBU holds a 6-4-5 record against Washburn, and leads the Missouri Southern series, 14-9-2.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
The Lady Blues had won two straight before dropping a match to Truman last weekend. Lauren Henry leads Washburn with three goals, although four other players have two apiece. Goalkeeper Ashley Klone has recorded three shutouts on the year, and has a 1.41 goals allowed average.

The Missouri Southern Lions started the conference slate off strong, sitting tied atop the MIAA standings after a 2-0-1 start through three matches. They've struggled as of late, however, winning just one match over their last seven. Goalkeeper Randi Russell has a 1.31 goals allowed average, fourth-best in the MIAA. Danai Noftz leads the team with four goals, while her and Shannon Kuhn (3 goals, 2 assists) are tied for the team lead with points, at eight.
