BOLIVAR, Mo. --
After a pair of tough losses at the High Desert Classic last weekend, the SBU Bearcats look to get the season's first win under their belts as they take on former MIAA rival, Missouri S&T. The matchup can be heard live on 99.9 KBFL, or streamed live online, at www.radiospringfield.com. The game will also be availiable through webcast, at AmericaOne.com.

THE COACHES AND ALL-TIME SERIES
SBU head coach Jeff Guiot continues in his seventh season on the Bearcat bench, where he has won three MIAA regular season titles, and compiled a 127-56 (.694) record. Coach Guiot has led the 'Cats to an MIAA Tournament appearance each season, and three NCAA Tournament appearnaces. Last season, SBU won 20 games for the third consecutive season, marking the first time in the history of the program the feat has been accomplished.

Jim Glash begins his second season as the head coach of the Missouri S&T men's basketball program after taking the Miners to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament for the first time in his inaugural season as head coach.

SBU holds a 27-21 advantage over the Miners, who first met in 1967. After meeting annually for almost 20 years, the series has been on haitus since Missouri S&T left the MIAA to compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. This game marks the first meeting between the two sides since the move.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BEARCATS
SBU returns to the state of Missouri after dropping a pair of games in Las Vegas, to #18 Central Oklahoma, and St. Mary's (Texas). Senior Kurt Koenig led the team with a season-high 26 points against the Rattlers', but could never get over the hump late, as St. Mary's went on to a 93-87 victory. Tomas Brock had a strong showing, with 17 points and five assists, while fellow Mount Vernon native Zach Kleine had 11 points in his SBU debut.

Against Central Oklahoma, junior Ryan Dougherty hit four three-pointers and had 17 points to lead both sides, but as a team the Bearcats shot just 28.4% as the Bronchos won, 85-56.

QUICK HITS
• SBU returns three starters from last season's 20-11 squad. Of the MIAA-leading 85.5 points per game the Bearcats averaged last year, the players coming back for this season made up 56% of the total scoring (48 ppg).

• SBU has won 42 of the last 45 games at the Meyer Sports Center, including a streak of 38 straight wins that stretches from 2007-10. Coach Guiot's teams are 69-13 in Bolivar.

• Last season, point guard Tomas Brock earned All-MIAA Honorable Mention honors, averaging 13.2 points per game and 4.7 assists per game.

• Brock put in more time on the floor than anyone else in the league last season, logging a total of 1,015 minutes on the floor (32.7 min/game).
