BOLIVAR, Mo. -- It was a tale of two halves as the SBU soccer Bearcats took on the Missouri Western Griffons. SBU controlled the game for the first 45 minutes, but were unable to get a shot past the Western keeper. Missing those early chances came back to haunt the Bearcats, as Missouri Western was able to connect on a crossing pass in the 80th minute to steal the win 1-0.
SBU outshot the Griffons, 8-0 in the first half, but only two of those shots were on target; a pair of long strikes from Lindsey Boden and Caitlin Tull. The Western attack started to gain some momentum in the second half, taking the first five shots and winning three corners within the first 30 minutes after halftime.
