OMAHA, Neb. --The Bearcats hit what may be the hardest week of the season, as they face the top two teams in the MIAA in back-to-back matches. First, SBU will travel to the University of Nebraska at Omaha, to face the Mavs, currently ranked eighth in the South Central Region. The Bearcats will follow that up by hosting the conference leading Truman Bulldogs on Saturday. SBU is coming off a Kansas road swing last week, beating Emporia State before getting narrowly edged by Washburn.

The 'Cats still remain regionally ranked, holding steady from last week at No. 9. As a team, SBU continues to use an attacking style of play, and currently ranks second in the MIAA in shots, while playing the fewest number of matches to date. Jaymye Ross, Shannon Roher, and Kelly Issac lead the offense, with each player placing in the top ten in shots (Ross: 3.62 shots/game, Roher: 3.50/game, Issac: 2.62/game). All three players are also in the top ten in goals; Roher with four, while Ross and Issac have three each.

THE COACHES AND THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Rob Podeyn is in his first season as Bearcat head coach (57-51-8 in seven years total), after leading the Northwood University (Texas) program since 2006, where he won two conference championships.

Dan Klosterman has led the Mavericks to four national semifinals, and won the 2005 national championship. The first head coach in the history of the program, Klosterman has a 162-37-7 record over the first eleven years. SBU has yet to beat UNO, who lead the series 4-0-1.

Mike Cannon is entering his 17th season with the Truman Bulldogs, where he is the program's winningest head coach with a record of 222-78-29. Last season, Cannon became the ninth coach in Division II history to win 200 matches; later that year, Truman hosted a national quarterfinal game, a loss to national champion Seattle Pacific. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series with SBU, 14-3-5.

SCOUTING THE MAVERICKS & BULLDOGS
Nebraska-Omaha is led by freshman forward Nicole Baier. Baier leads the MIAA in a number of categories, including points (19), goals (7), assists (5), and has the second-most game winning goals this season, with 3. Jessica Powers and Jerica Kuncl also contribute to the offense, with four and three goals this season, respectively.

Olivia Hays heads up the Bulldog attack this year, with seven goals so far this season, tying her with Baier for the MIAA lead. Sophomore goalkeeper Jayne Grisham is among the best keepers in the MIAA, with 4 shutouts and a goals against average of 0.80.
