BOLIVAR, Mo. -- The SBU Bearcats will take their 7-7 record to nationally-ranked Truman State in Kirksville on Wednesday, which begins a big week of MIAA play.
Through the first 14 matches of the season, SBU's kill leaders are Kelsey Stewart (165), Ashley Jurgensmeyer (140) and Rachel Sawyer (130). Brianna Wallace has 494 assists. Shyray Perry (208) and Kinsey Palmer (163) are the team's leaders in digs.
"We saw a lot of good things in our match with Nebraska - Omaha," said SBU's head coach, Kelly Richardson. "But we definitely noticed some areas that can be improved. We're going to spend this week improving our weaknesses and building on our areas of strength. We'll be in the gym today working on things we saw from the UNO match. We've made some changes that we're excited about."
"It's a big week of MIAA play for us. We play Truman on Wednesday, host Western on Friday, and host Northwest on Saturday. We'd especially like to thank our great fans who have been coming out. We're working hard on the court and we really appreciate the support."
On Friday, the Bearcats host Missouri Western, who is 0-3 in the MIAA. Then on Saturday, SBU entertains Northwest Missouri, who is 1-2 in the MIAA.
