BOLIVAR, Mo. - The #4 SBU Bearcats defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State, 106-82, to move their record to 8-0 on the season.

It was the 21st consecutive victory for SBU on their home floor.

Nick Kovacevich scored a career-high 25 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and dished out 6 assists to lead SBU. Matt Rogers scored 23, rebounded 16, and blocked 7 shots. Rogers hit 15 of 17 from the free throw line. D'Ante Harris joined Rogers with a 'double-double' by scoring 17 and rebounding 10.

"This was a good team that came in here tonight," said SBU's head coach, Jeff Guiot. "They were 6-0, and had a big win over Washburn. We knew they could play and especially shoot. I thought we did a good job getting out against their good shooters. We need to work on turnovers - we gave up too many tonight, but it was the best rebounding night we've had all season."

The Bearcats won the battle of the boards, 62-35. They shot 46.3% (37-80) from the field and 8 of 34 (23.5%) from the arc.

SBU scored over 100 points tonight for the fourth time this season. SBU has scored at least 90 points in seven of their eight games. The Bearcats kept their streak of at least four players in double figures scoring, which has happened in every game this season.

SBU moved into the #4 spot in the nation today, hopping over Central Oklahoma, who lost to West Texas A&M last week.

The Bearcats will head to Pittsburg State on Saturday, (December 13) with a 7:30 tipoff.
