BOLIVAR, Mo. - The #5 SBU Bearcats won their 20th consecutive game at home, by defeating Hannibal - LaGrange, 112-66.
Matt Rogers scored 21 points, all in the first half, to lead both teams in scoring. Rogers was also the game's leader in rebounds (8) and blocks (4).
SBU put five players in double figures. Joining Rogers in the 'double digit' column were Brandon Burgette (17, on 7-9 from the field and 3-4 from long range), D'Ante Harris (15), Nick Kovacevich (13), and Justin Brown (10). Today was the seventh straight time (every game this season) in which SBU had at least four players score at least 10 points.
The Bearcats led 55-31 at halftime.
SBU logged 32 assists tonight, contrasted with 13 turnovers. They shot 52.8% from the field and a sizzling 47.6% from the three-point line.
"We shot well today," said SBU's head coach, Jeff Guiot. "Matt was able to get a few more shots down from outside. That's what they were giving him - and he's been hot out there. Overall, our kids battled and competed hard tonight."
"We have Southwest Oklahoma in here on Tuesday. We're looking for a tough game against them. They scored over 100 against Washburn earlier this year. It's a regional game for us - and fans will have a chance to come out and see two good teams."
SBU plays Southwest Oklahoma State at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9.
