SBU Women's Basketball Announces the Signing of 5 Players for 2017-18

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist University head women's basketball coach Kelsey Keizer has announced the signing of four players for the 2017-18 season.

Sydney Bandy - 6'0 - F - Belton, Mo.
Sydney Bandy comes to Southwest Baptist after playing at Belton High School during her prep career. Sydney is a three-time All-Conference and three-time All-District selection, while averaging 10.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.2 apg, and 1.3 spg during her senior season. Coach Keizer on Sydney: "Sydney brings a level of toughness to our team that is greatly needed. We look forward to her physicality and work ethic to have an immediate impact on our inside game."

Regan Tibbits - 5'10 - G - Wichita, Kan.
Regan Tibbits comes to Southwest Baptist after playing at Life Prep Academy in Wichita, Kansas. Regan was named 1st Team All-KCCA averaging 16.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.0 apg, and 1.9 spg during her senior season. During her career, Regan scored 1,393 points. Coach Keizer on Regan: "We are thrilled to have such a tremendous student-athlete in Regan joining our roster. Regan will be asked to step into a variety of roles for our team right away. Her competitiveness and love for the game will shine through in the years to come."

Makayla Putt - 5'10 - G - Ozark, Mo.
Makayla Putt comes to Southwest Baptist after playing at Ozark High School during her prep career. Makayla was named 1st Team All-COC and All-District while averaging 14.0 ppg, 5.4 rpg, and 3.5 apg during her senior season. Makayla finished her career at Ozark HS 12th on the all-time scoring list. Coach Keizer on Makayla: "Makayla is such a talented athlete and fierce competitor. We are confident that her physicality will translate very well into the MIAA."

Ray'Shionne Smith - 5-7 - G - Hugo, Okla.
Ray'Shionne Smith comes to Southwest Baptist after playing two years at Seminole State College. Ray'Shionne averaged 11.8 ppg, 2.8 apg, 2.4 rpg, and 1.5 spg during her career at Seminole State College. Coach Keizer on Ray'Shionne: "Ray'Shionne has a great feel for the game and the ability to score in a variety of ways. We are confident that she will bring depth and experience to our guard court right away."

Taliayah Wilson - 6-3 - C - Oklahoma City, Okla.
Taliayah Wilson comes to Southwest Baptist after a successful high school career at Putnam City West. Taliayah averaged 7.6 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 3.3 bpg, and was a Big Ten All-Conference selection her senior year. Coach Keizer on Taliayah: "We are very pleased to add Taliayah to our team and specifically our post position group. She brings great size and athleticism to the court along with a passion to compete and grow her game. We will look for Taliayah to immediately impact us with her knack for rebounding and her ability to block shots."
