Wichita, Kan. - The Southwest Baptist University women's basketball team hung tight with Wichita State in their final exhibition contest of the year, trailing by only 12 points heading into the fourth quarter, as they fell 82-64 on Saturday.

The Bearcats trailed Wichita State 48-34 at the half, but outscored the Shockers 19-17 in the third quarter before eventually falling 82-64 in their final tune-up before regular season play begins. Megan Rosenbohm again led the Bearcats in scoring, posting 20 points on 8 of 12 shooting from the field, while Caylee Richardson added 11 points and 5 boards, and Ray'Shionne Smith, Morgan Henderson, and Bailey Rezabeck all chipped in 8 points.

SBU will open up their 2017-18 season on Friday, November 10 when they host Henderson State at the SBU Classic. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
