"We came out early and scored the ball pretty well," assistant coach Colt Blair commented after the win. "Defensively we probably are not where we wanted to be, but it's a work in progress and we are going to continue to get better. Ricky [Odige] can really go at the ball. He's long and athletic and made really good decisions coming off of pick and rolls. We are going to need him to step up for us off the bench this season. You also can't say enough about Ryan [Dougherty]. He comes to battle every day. He is shooting the ball really well, and on top of that, his defense is outstanding."

The Bearcats will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Fairbanks, Alaska for the Alaska Invitational Tournament.

"It's a great opportunity for us to travel all the way up to Alaska and get to play against some teams we normally don't see," senior guard Ryan Dougherty stated about the upcoming tournament. "We are going to go up there and play our hardest and try and get three wins out of the trip."

"It will be a good experience to play other Division II teams," senior center Robson Memnon stated. "We will be able to find our strengths and weaknesses. It will be a good experience for us."

The Bearcats will play host school University of Alaska Fairbanks on Thursday, November 17, future MIAA school Lindenwood on Friday, November 18, and wrap up the tournament against Tiffin (Ohio) on Saturday, November 19.
