BOYS TOWN, Neb. -- The SBU baseball Bearcats dropped the fourth game of the weekend series with #26 Nebraska-Omaha, falling 9-3 in Saturday's finale. Justin Barnhart had two hits and two RBI for the Bearcats.
Nebraska-Omaha (20-8, 16-4 MIAA) struck first with two runs in the bottom of the second. SBU answered in the third when Barnhart drew a bases-loaded walk that scored Zach Simonds. But UNO responded with three more in the bottom of the third inning and put the game away with three more in the sixth inning and another in the seventh.
The Bearcats scored twice more in the eighth inning when Barnhart singled to right, scoring Niko Saladis. Later Taylor Trotter's single plated Lendon Ehlman.
UNO second baseman Andre Hansen had four hits on the day while Tyler Splichal added three hits.
SBU (6-27, 5-21 MIAA) will play a makeup contest with Lincoln on Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. The single nine-inning contest was originally scheduled for March 9, but was postponed due to weather.
