Rogers had 29 in the first half and looked to be on his way to breaking the all-time SBU mark of 40 points held by Glenn Stanley and Tim Elliott. "Matt shot extremely well and could have broken the record, but we aren't about stats," said Guiot. "Hopefully he gets 40 in a game where we need him to."

Guiot added that his Bearcats (6-1) are still trying to put two halves together. "We work to build habits and it is hard to to buy into that, but we're working on it."
The Bearcats raced out of the gates to a 10-0 lead and quickly extended that to 21-4 by the first media timeout. SBU led at halftime 60-36 after leading by as much as 31 points in the first half. The Bearcats' largest margin in the second half was 43 points with two minutes left.
