KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Senior Bearcat Caitlin Tull was named to the All-MIAA Second Team in soccer, her fourth All-MIAA award in four seasons at SBU. Six other Bearcats were named All-MIAA Honorable Mention, including freshman goalkeeper Megan Link, defender/forward Taylor Vick, senior defender Vanessa Roher, midfielders Kelly Isaac and Lindsey Boden, and forward Jaymye Ross.
Tull, a native of Yuba City, Calif., has appeared in all but one match during her SBU career, and is fourth on SBU's all-time matches played list. The Bearcats saw a combined 35-27-14 record during Tull's career.
This is the first Honorable Mention award for five of the six Bearcat winners, but the second for Vanessa Roher, who was named Honorable Mention in 2008. Roher scored one goal this season as a defender, a game winning goal in overtime against Missouri Southern. Megan Link logged almost 1,400 minutes in goal, earning a 1.19 GAA and a record of 7-3-2, including four shutouts. Freshman Taylor Vick started the season at forward, scoring three goals and three assists, including one game winner, then helped anchor the defense in the second half on the year.
Kelly Isaac, Lindsey Boden, and Jaymye Ross were all key components to the Bearcat attack, combining to score 14 of SBU's 30 goals total this season. Each had one game winning goal at some point during the 2009 campaign.
