AURORA, Colo. -- Behind a second place finish from senior Brad Nipper, Southwest Baptist University golf tied for fourth place at the Colorado School of Mines / Regis University Fall Invitational, which was held on Monday and Tuesday, October 12 and 13, at Blackstone Country Club (par 72) in Aurora, Colo. The tournament was comprised of two 18-hole rounds.
Nipper came in second at one under par (71, 72). Justin Sellin and Bryan Steele tied for 13th at +5 (149), Matt Buschman was +11 (155) to tie for 39th and Chad McCoy was 67th (+26, 170). As a team, the Bearcats shot rounds of 302 and 294 (596) to tie for fourth place.
Johnson & Wales University (Fla.) posted a two-day, two-round team stroke total of 580 (+4) to finish five strokes ahead of runner-up Colorado School of Mines (585; +9). Wayland Baptist University (593; +17) placed third while Colorado State University - Pueblo and SBU tied for fourth place.
Johnson & Wales' Joonas Hinkkanen (70, 70) finished atop the individual leaderboard at four under par while SBU's Nipper came in second. Johnson & Wales' Greg Belsito (71, 73) and Mines' Cory Bacon (75, 69) tied for third place at even par.
