Final Results
HAYS, Kan. -- After a 24th place finish a year ago, sophomore
Phillip Miller posted a time of 24:50 to finish 11th at the MIAA Championships. Miller finished third among sophomores, and improved his time almost a minute and a half from last season's meet.
With a pair of freshmen in the top seven (
Derek Lee, 25:43, 25th;
Josh Inman, 26:11, 42nd), the Bearcats feel the building blocks to contend in the future are there. Lee was the third-fastest freshman on the day, while the 'Cats number three runner,
Max McClure (25:51, 28th) is in just his second season.
Inman and
Josh Rollins (26:26, 51st) rounded out the SBU top five.
SBU continues the championship portion of the schedule in two weeks, when they travel to Warrensburg, Mo., for the NCAA South Central Regional Championships.
