WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The SBU men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up the 2010 season with 10th and 11th place showings at the NCAA South Central Regional, hosted by Central Missouri. Phillip Miller was the top Bearcat on the men's side, while Krenda McClure was the first SBU women to cross the finish line.
McClure's 23:55 was good for 34th best on the 6 kilometer course, while Miller posted a 33:17 over ten kilometers to take home 29th. Ashley Wolkomir (24:01, 36th), Mandy Brady (24:29, 54th), Christina Owensby (24:51, 65th), and Karissa Fisher (24:53, 68th) round out the top five for the Bearcats.
On the men's side, there showed some promise in the following seasons, as the SBU top five were made up entirely of freshman and sophomores. After Miller, freshmen Josh Inman (33:24, 32nd) and Derek Lee (34:14, 60th), sophomore Max McClure (34:19, 65th), and freshman Ben Garrison (34:53, 83rd) made up the top five for SBU.
