BOLIVAR, Mo. -- The SBU Bearcats kick off the 2010-11 season tonight, with an exhibition game against SBU alumni, starting at 7 p.m. The Bearcats return four starters from last year's 20-win squad, which recorded the third consecutive season the Bearcats have piled 20 or more victories.
The SBU alumni team will be made up of recent SBU players, including Bolivar native Jim Grabowski, who has spent the last two seasons playing professionally in Portugal. The team will also include players from SBU's recent conference championship teams, including D'Ante Harris, Wendell Mardis, and Brandon Burgette, as well as current SBU assistant coaches Colt Blair and Deon Davis. Mike Gabani and Robby Hoegh will also make appearances for the alumni team.
Tonight's game will be the only tune-up before the Bearcats head to Las Vegas, for the UCM Desert Classic, November 12-13. The official home-opener will be on Saturday, November 20, when SBU hosts Drury at 7 p.m.
