Participated on SBU’s track & field teams in 1986 through 1989 … Was MIAA high jump champion multiple times … A three-time NCAA Division II qualifier (twice indoor, once outdoor) … Earned sixth place in 1988 and third place in 1989 … Was also an NAIA national qualifier for the high jump in 1987 … Holds SBU record in high jump for outdoor at 5’10 1/2” … Held the SBU records in outdoor long jump until 2009 and indoor high jump until 2014 … Broke the NAIA District 16 record in high jump, and tied the MIAA record in the indoor high jump as a freshman … While at SBU, was an accompanist on piano for chapel and various singers … Earned her degree in elementary education with a music education minor.
