Originally from Powersite, Mo. ... Lettered at SWBC two years in basketball: 1949-50 and 1950-51 ... All-Regional selection in basketball for junior colleges in 1951 ... Lettered two years in basketball, one year in track at Central Arkansas, 1951-52 and 1952-53 ... Set single game scoring record at UCA with 54 points … Obtained master’s degree from the University of Missouri ... Coached seven years of high school basketball at Forsyth, Hollister and Mount Vernon and went 126-40 ... Coached at SWBC from 1960-67 with a record of 78-47 ... Led Bearcats to their first national tournament ... Teams were nationally ranked in top ten ... Coached First Team JUCO All-American and pro draftee (fellow SBU HOFers Ted Oglesby and Lynn Nance) ... Was instrumental in the construction of the SWBC Fieldhouse including campaign that gave donors a season ticket with a $10 donation - the cost to purchase an actual seat in the new building ... He and his wife Patsy (Martin) had two sons ... Passed away on July 4, 2014.
