Bolivar, Mo. – Southwest Baptist University's varsity League of Legends eSports team finished its inaugural season's fall split with a record of 4-3.
Collegiate StarLeague, the hosting organization for League of Legends collegiate competition, runs the competitive season during both the fall and spring semesters. Competition begins with a "fall split," where teams are randomly arranged in divisions and compete in a round-robin structure.
This fall, SBU competed in the Midwest Division 9 with teams from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Mississippi State University, Columbia College and Washington University-St. Louis.
The fall split standings are used to reorganize divisions for the spring split. Top finishers in the spring split will advance to a single-elimination playoff in March, 2017.
SBU kicks off its seven-game spring split on Jan. 14, 2017. Playoffs are scheduled to begin March 18.
