Springfield, Mo. - Fanni Varga defeated Southern Nazarene's Masha Andrianova 7-5, 6-1 on Sunday afternoon to claim the 2012 USTA/ITA Central Regional Women's Singles Title. With the victory, Varga will now compete at the ITA Small College Nationals on October 11-14 in Mobile, Alabama.

In the match against Andrianova, Varga took game one, and a 1-0 lead before dropping the next four games to go down 1-4. Varga then turned it on, dominating the rest of the competition. Varga would go on to take set one 7-5, followed by a 6-1 effort in set two. After falling behind 1-4 in the first set, Varga would go on to win 12 of the next 14 games on her way to victory. Prior to defeating Andrianova, Varga defeated Northwest Missouri's Camila Quesada 7-6, 6-4 in the semi-finals.

Varga will now advance to the ITA Small College Nationals on October 11-14 in Mobile, Alabama where she will face the other singles Regional Champions in Division II.
