SBU volleyball adds transfer Lauren Guison
Middle hitter from Missouri State-West Plains joins Bearcats

BOLIVAR, Mo. -- The SBU volleyball Bearcats have added one more offensive threat before the 2010 gets underway in junior transfer Lauren Guison. Guison, a 5-9 middle hitter from Rogersville, Mo., will transfer from Missouri State-West Plains this fall.
Guison helped lead a Missouri State-West Plains squad that reached the NJCAA Division I national tournament in both her freshman and sophomore seasons, including a national runner-up finish last year. At Logan-Rogersville High School, Guison was named to All-District, All-Region, and All-State teams.
"We are very excited that Lauren has chosen SBU as her new home. She brings great enthusiasm for the game, and has been a part of one of the best JUCO programs in the nation. Lauren is a hard worker, and will bring great strength to our offense," said head coach Kelly Richardson.
The 2010 SBU volleyball season kicks off September 3rd, when the Bearcats travel to Lakeland, Fla., for the Florida Southern Classic. The SBU home opener comes two weeks later, on September 18th against Nebraska-Omaha.
